Fully-featured Workshop
November Bikes maintains a comprehensive and up-to-date tool set and full facilities. We can work on the latest and greatest groupsets, bleed any brake, change frame bearings, face your bottom bracket , fix your wheels and even tune your classic Campagnolo ten speed into shape.
Leave it to us
We offer a personalised and comprehensive service. We won’t approach the work on your bike like a checklist, but rather pay attention to what’s really needed.
We’re happy to manage any procurement needs, discuss and propose upgrade options and source the parts you really want on your behalf.
Speciality Services
November Bikes is happy to do any type of work on your bike, but there are some things we particularly like doing:
The November Service
This is the service November Bikes exists to deliver, and loves to work on.
Let your bike be the best it can be.
A total disassembly, thorough clean, lube, rebuild and thorough tune of your bike, ready for hundreds more miles, or your next race attempt.
Especially recommended for:
- new bikes
- a new season of riding
- race prep
- annual maintenance for commuters
The service every bike should have at least once, and once a year if it’s ridden often.
This service starts with Total Disassembly, and works from there. Cleaning, treating, lubing and rebuilding with a tune. Bearings prepped, suspension serviced, pivots regreased, all bi-metallic interfaces appropriately lubed or treated, cables trimmed and squared, inners lubed, cassette stripped, brakes bled, wheels trued, derailliers disassembled and hangers made perfectly straight, chain ultrasonically cleaned and set up, every bolt and torque checked and every mechanism and tuned to perfection.
Your bike will feel and perform better than the day you bought it.
Average costs for functional bikes:
Hardtail or Road: $600 labour + parts, lubes and fluids
Full suspension: $900 labour + parts, lubes and fluids
Ebikes: add approx. $160 to above.
Chain Waxing
Chain waxing is becoming more popular for both road and mountain bike use as it offers a very long lasting, very low friction lube. It also stays far cleaner in all conditions and significantly reduces drivetrain wear.
However, chains need to be perfectly clean before being set up for wax, or it just wont last. November Bikes offers a multi-step heated ultrasonic cleaning process to ensure a zero residue chain ready for application of MoltenSpeedWax.
An ultrasonic clean and wax normally adds around $50 to a service, including consumables and wax, but it is quite important that the rest of your drivetrain is also spotless when the waxed chain is first used. If you haven’t already got a waxed chain, we recommend this upgrade as part of a broader service.
We can also wax a brand new chain for you, if you’re already a convert.
Suspension Services
We offer full servicing options for virtually all front suspension fork models, and can offer some rear shock services too. We can also service and replace pivot bolts and bearings and suspension hardware.
Costs vary depending on the fork model and service spares required, but as a guide for a reasonable condition component:
- Forks lowers service: $60 plus consumables
- Forks full service: $100 plus consumables
- Aircan service: $40 plus consumables
Prices for seals and service hardware can vary.
Project bikes and customisations
November Bikes loves to work on your long-term project bike, resto-mod or personal dream build.
Whether its specing and building your brand new dream enduro bike, converting an old MTB into a modern 12 speed gravel bike, or something else entirely, we’d love to help you achieve your dream, delivered ready to actually get ridden, not with dry bolts and badly indexed gears!
We can manage projects including international product sourcing, or at the other end of things, repainting or powdercoating and frame modifications.
Get in touch and let’s start to make your bicycle dreams come true.
Our Service Model
At November Bikes we charge for labour at $80 per hour, but ONLY for the time we spend working hands-on with your bike, with a one hour minimum charge.
We don’t charge for thinking about your job, helping you pick parts, chatting with you about options, ordering the exact parts you want on your behalf and so on, because actually that’s a pleasure. This includes for complex builds and project management of customisations. We believe this model offers great value in comparison to our competition.
Add the cost of any parts and consumables you need, which we always seek to provide at close to cost as we can (We have an extensive network of established suppliers in Aotearoa and internationally), add GST where applicable, and you have your total price.
Basically: After hour one, we charge in quarter hour increments only for the time we work on your bike, no matter what type of work we’re doing on you bike, and we can do almost everything, or arrange for it to be done where required.
We also offer free pick-up and return of your bike anywhere in Pōneke south of Pito-one and charge $30 for Lower Hutt suburbs., including outside of business hours because that’s when you’re actually home.
We deliver convenience, with exceptional attention to detail and a race-quality tune.
We’ll provide a personalised service for your exact needs.
We are happy to provide an estimate before work begins and can work based on agreed priorities if cost is a factor. We can also order any parts required on your behalf to your specifications, needs or desires.
Call, email or text to chat about your needs, and to get booked in.
